We met in the mountains in beautiful Lake Louise, Alberta.

Rob moved from England to Lake Louise in 2005.  After living and working in Bermuda, he decided to take on the harsh Canadian winter in the mountains.  At first, thinking what has he done, he eventually fell in love with Canada and the outdoor lifestyle. 

 

Determined to live in the mountains since she was young, Elyse graduated from university in Ontario in 2008 and moved straight to Lake Louise.  Surprisingly it took several years until we actually met.  Originally at a work leadership party (and after party in Banff!) and then through friends.  We spent our last year in Lake Louise together snowboarding, hiking, and camping.  Lake Louise brought us the best lifestyle, the best friendships and of course love.  It will always hold a special place in our hearts.

 

  Elyse moved to Calgary in 2013 for work and Rob followed shortly after. We started out subletting and sneaking our dog Arnie into a small bachelor apartment with Rebecca French (Lake Louise friend) living underneath us.  We then moved in with Greg Rapien (Elyse's university friend) and his friend into a pet-friendly house for several years with unfortunately the worst landlord.  When we were ready to take the relationship to the next level, we got our own place in our unforgettable tiny gingerbread house downtown Calgary with the best neighbours ever (Paul & Alana Dokmanovic).  It was the best place to host all of our friends and family. 

 

Our relationship blossomed being on our own and Calgary started to grow on us.  Next step was to buy a house and introduce our beautiful baby boy Owen to the world!  We have shared trips together and have had many adventures (there are a lot of stories).  We grew as a couple at each stage, have had lots of fun and amazing moments along the way and faced many challenges.  We love the life and family we have built together and are excited to start our next adventure - our marriage.
